Joseph Paul "Pappa Joe" Provenza

As a former elementary student of yours, Mrs. Bargmann and family, please accept my deepest sympathy as you mourn the passing away of your father. My thoughts and prayers are with you (Caddo Heights Elementary).

Fr. Earl, I am so sorry to hear about your brother. My prayers are with you and your whole family. I am Tina (Moses) Cannatella. You taught me 6th grade religion class at St. Catherine's YEARS ago and my whole family (Buddy and Joni Moses) have your family in their prayers. Again, much love to you all.

Our thoughts and prayers go to the Provenza family. "Pappa Joe" was a great friend and we will be miss his good humor and optimism.

It was an honor to have Mr. Provenza in Live Oak. As nursing director let me say our staff enjoyed caring for him. May God richly bless your family during this time.

It truly saddens me to have read of your father's passing. I felt as though I knew him much more than I actually did. Perhaps it was because I listened intently when you spoke of him, as you often did with love and great admiration for his influence in your life. Then perhaps it was the warmth with which he greeted me for the first time during the family's Christmas get together at your home a few years ago. I can also recall a very interesting and inspirational newspaper interview about his gardening activities, a copy of which I still have. Through you, a friend dear to me, I became quite fond of "Pappa Joe." I pray that the memories and legacy that he leaves behind will continue to have a positive, guiding influence in your life.
