I too am retired from GTE - did not know nor never met Mr. Joe - I was too far down the ladder - BUT I will always be beholden to Mr. Joe for his starting the Technical Associate Degree Program - I am one of those 1000 diploma holders and I posthumously thank him for originating this program as me having earned one of those diplomas, opened an important door for me late in my 32 years @ GTE.
Thank You Mr. Joe and Gods Speed to you sir.

We too have Pittsburgh roots that back before World War II. What a great time and place to grow. Great memories etched into our beings.
We are greatly saddened by Joe's death and extend our condolences to Betty and family.
