Joseph John Ritter IV, of Fraser, passed away on May 31, 2017 at 64 years of age.

Beloved husband of 43 years to Dorothy; adored father of Autumn (Ron) Krzeminski, and Joseph (Stacy Cane) Ritter, V; cherished grandpa of Ronnie and Aaron Krzeminski, and Ella, Tori, and Livy Ritter; dear brother of James (Kim) Ritter, and the late Marie (Wayne) Karchner. Joe is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Joe was born on March 22, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Joseph III and Catherine (nee Canepa) Ritter.

Joe enjoyed golfing, cooking and baking, traveling with Dorothy, spending time with his family, and singing with the Metropolitan Detroit Chorale for over 25 years. He was a skilled and talented carpenter; proudly owning "Ritter's Repair and Remodeling" for 22 years.

The family will greet friends on Saturday, June 3 from 4:00 pm-9:00 pm and on Sunday, June 4 from 1:00 pm until time of scripture service at 7:00 pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd., Clinton Twp.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, June 5 at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 18201 23 Mile Rd., Macomb, MI. In State from 9:30 am until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions may be made in Joe's memory to Friends of Kenya Orphans, 18640 Mack Ave., St 1294, Grosse Pointe, MI 48236 (www.FriendsofKenyanOrphans.org) or to Metropolitan Detroit Chorale, PO Box 1320 Sterling Heights, MI 48311 (www.MetropolitanDetroitChorale.org) .

The family would especially like to thank the skilled staff of St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit for their kindness, compassion, and remarkable care of Joe

Just found out today of Joe's passing. We can hardly believe it and are in shock. He was one of the nicest men we have ever met. He did a complete kitchen renovation on our home, a complete kitchen renovation on our sons home and a lot of work on my daughters home, that's how much we loved him. His carpentry skills were amazing. He was such a honest person and a true gentlemen. He will be so greatly missed by many. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

We just learned today about Joe's passing, and it makes us very sad. He was such a genuine, thoughtful, hard-working, patient, skilled and intelligent man with a great sense of humor. We are very proud to have his workmanship displayed in our finished lower level that he treated as if it were his own home. We send our deepest condolences to Dorothy and the rest of the family for the loss of such a very fine and loving man. Joe was very proud of his family.

I have been friends with Dorothy for about 5 years. I didn't know Joe very long but i really enjoyed our rides to St. Ignatius. Such a compassionate, caring and fun loving man. I knew he had been ill but I really thought he would pull through. He will be truly missed. My heart goes out to his family.

Joe was always a perfect gentleman and a kind and gentle soul. I will miss worshipping and talking with him at our St. Ignatius Community. May he now enjoy the peace and love that only God can fill - abundant and overflowing.

I have so many memories of Joe when we were in school together...I was one of the original "GROUPIES" for the band! I considered him a great friend when were in school......My condolences to Dorothy......and his family. The world was a better place with Joe in it. I can just imagine how he is "SHINING" on the other side....... Sadness.......in my heart.......
