ROONEY, Joseph Bernard (Barney). Died peacefully at St. Eustache Hospital on Thursday, June 2, 2005 in his eighty-third year. Barney is survived by his loving wife Noreen (Lockett), his brother John Patrick (Peggy), father to Darlene, Barney Jr. (Merina), and John (Elizabeth-Ann). Dear grandfather (Big "B") to: Brenda, Jaime, David, Kevin, Christine, Brandi, Marjorie, Donia, Benjamin, Matthew, Denyse and Christina. Also remembered by his brothers-in-law, Roland Leroux and Saul (Hank) Greenberg. Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Barney is predeceased by his brother Anthony, his sisters Margaret Greenberg and Isabel Leroux. He will be greatly missed by the "Big 10" and his many friends. Visitation at Guay Funeral Home, 146 St. Louis, Ste Eustache: Sunday, June 5 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday starting at 9 a.m. Funeral services will be held at Holy Family Church, Monday, June 6 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his name to the Canadian Parkinson's Society or Holy Family Parish (1001 Oka Rd., Deux Montagnes, Qc.). A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Noreen, Darlene, Barney-boo and John.We were saddened to hear about the loss of Uncle Barney.I remember him as always being open,fun loving and a fabulous host. He and Noreen were angels sent from the East when Dad died. I was extremely grateful for there help and love during those sad and stressfull days. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during these difficult times. Looking forward to seeing you June 17th to 20th. Love Patricia

My Uncle Barney so many good memories: summers and the lake, peeling lots of corn. Christmas and birthdays and always his favorite question, "Who's your favorite uncle?" a wink, a smile and always a good laugh. He loved to tease, and you knew when he meant business!
