Joseph "Joe" Thomas Salter, 59, passed away peacefully on Aug. 11, 2014. Joe was born on June 25, 1955, in Pompton Plains, N.J. and raised in Los Angeles, Calif. He has resided in Mary Esther, Fla. for the last 20 plus years. He is survived by his son, Thomas Joseph Salter (Robyn); daughter, Kristine Dee Salter; and his two grandsons, JT and Kolton Salter. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Joseph Salter. A memorial service at La Mar West Townhomes will be held on Aug. 30, 2014 at 3 p.m. As Joe is remembered we hope that the focus will not be on his death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to so many.

We are so sad to hear of Joes passing......every time he came by our office he always had a big smile on his face and most times spoke soooo....fondly of his children. You could tell how much love he had in his heart. What a kind man. Our family thought the world of him. We will greatly miss him and have all his family and friends in our prayers. Thank you for the photo gallery attached.....shows his true spirit.

Peace and God Bless you Joe,

Fond memories as a child going to visit my cousins. Listening to scary stories they used to tell me about the castle behind their house. The Easter egg hunts with the cereal box prizes and Inky the big black dog! Thanks Joe for all the great memories. May you rest in peace dear cousin, until we meet again! Prayers to all that are missing you and love you!

I'm so grateful to Jesus for selecting you as my big bro Joe. We shared so many memories... joys, hurts and blessings. You have been a treasured confidant for me. I'm proud of all that you have accomplished in those short 59 years. But most of all I adore your two lil angels Kristine & Tommy and your precious step daughter Amelia. Although my heart aches It blesses me to know you are no longer in pain but in peace in eternity with your creator, Jesus Christ. I miss you so much and look forward to the day I get to see you again. Thanks for the memories. You will always remain in my heart Joe Joe. I love you more than words. As you would say...too hip gotta go!! Peace <3

Joe was my friend and confidant, neighbor, and coworker. He was like a brother to me and we could talk about anything and everything. He talked me into going to work at Boeing over 15 years ago. My prayers and sympathy go out to his family. Thanks for the many smiles and good times we shared. He was truly “the Mayor of La Mar West” and will be missed by all. In the spirit of Joe's favorite goodbye message, “Ski ya, buddy”.
