Joseph L. Scotto, a resident of St. Lucie West, departed this life Sunday, January 13, 2013. Mr. Scotto was born in Brooklyn, NY, he moved to Stuart, Florida in 1979, moving to St. Lucie West in 1995. He worked for Southern Bell for 38 years, retiring as a line technician. He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and a 3rd Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus. He also coached soccer and baseball. Mr. Scotto was preceded in death by his sisters, Rachel Fevola, Margaret Quinto and Millie Gerber. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Josephine Scotto; sons, Joseph Scotto, of Prescott Valley, AZ, and James Scotto, of Orlando, FL; daughter, Janet Maas, of Lake Mary, FL; 2 grandsons; brothers, Nicholas Scotto, of Orlando, FL, and Salvatore Scotto, of New Jersey; and a sister, Nancy Basile, of Patchogue, Long Island, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, Inc., 5000 Dunn Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM, Friday, January 18, 2013 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie, reception to follow in the church hall. Arrangements under the direction of Forest Hills Funeral Homes - Byrd, Young & Prill Chapel in Port Saint Lucie. A guest register may be found at: www.ForestHillsFunerals.com.
