Joseph Turi Obituary
Captain Joseph Nicholas of West Milford formerly of Hillsdale passed on March 9, 2017 of accidental boating injuries at the age of 50. A graduate of Pascack Valley High School he began his nautical career by serving in the United States Coast Guard from 1992 to 2000 and went on to continue a career in the marine industry in New York Harbor till present. Joseph is survived by his wife of 18 years, Lisa. Beloved father to Samantha. Cherished son of Jean Turi and the late Joseph Turi. Brother to Joshua Turi and his wife Kim, and nephew Mitchell, and his life-long best friend, 'brother', Dennis Wheeler. He will be missed by his many friends and family, and his four-legged companion Scooby.
Visiting on Monday from 4-8PM at the William G. Basralian Funeral Home, 559 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell. On Tuesday services will be conducted at 11AM in the funeral home. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to his daughter Samantha Turi's College Fund.

My heart goes out to the Turi family. I worked with Jeanne @ Castrol back in the '70s and '80s and heard stories about Joey and Joshua. Having a mom like Jeanne, Joey had to have been an exceptional person. Gone far too soon.

To know the Turi family it is not hard to see where Joe had gotten his wit, personality and internal warmth from. Joe had a certain flair and style all his own and if you really knew Joe it would not be hard to see. i have known the Turi family for a good number of years and each one was filled with good feelings, laughter and great memories. to the entire family i am saddened by Joe's passing. For as long as i may live i will never forget all the years we spent fishing on Lake Ontario. We always had a great time whether we caught fish or not. Thanks Joe, for being a part of my life as much as i hope i was part of yours. You will always be Cousin Joey and thanks to the entire Turi family I will always be Uncle Tony. Love You All !

Joe, I'll remember you in spirit, which you had an abundance of, always speaking about your Family, Samantha and fishing, about your brother and Mom... will always remember the sound of your voice...always admiring how your associates were your second family...I hope my impression on my children comes close to how much you spoke so proudly of your Sam...
