Of Munhall, on May 17, 2010, after a courageous battle with internal melanoma, age 77. Beloved husband of Marlene (Fracek) Vavrek; son of the late Joseph A. and Mary (Olack) Vavrek; father of Darlene (Ronald) Ralph, Patty VanDyke and Lauren (Jantzen) Simko; brother of Martha (Richard) Weigold and Lawrence (Patricia) Vavrek; grandfather of William (Rebekah), Joseph and Erica Ralph, Patrick and Alex VanDyke, Kealie and Layne Simko; great grandfather of Kherington Ralph. Friends received SAVOLSKIS - WASIK - GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main St., Munhall Thursday 6-9pm and Friday 2-4 and 6-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 9:30am at St. Therese Church, Munhall. Joseph was a member of the Thompson Club, retired U.S. Steel worker and an Army veteran.

Joe, a wonderful husband of over 50 years and a terrific father who raised three beautiful daughters and set a marvelous example for his children grandchildren and great grandchild. We will miss your wonderful sense of humor and the laughter that you brought to all of us. You and all of your family are in our thoughts and prayers. We know that those family and friends that met you as you entered heaven are now the recipients of all that laughter and good heartedness. You will be missed by all who knew and loved you. Rest in the Love and Peace of the Lord. Till we meet again.
