Joe Wargo Sr., 73, was taken to heaven by the angels on Tuesday. His family kept vigil while Joe fought his toughest fight.
Joe was founder of Wargo Coal and Oil. He spent his whole life dedicating himself to his customers, who always came first. His hard work and dedication helped him to become such a successful man who was loved and respected by all.
Before starting his own company, Joe had worked for Jeddo Highland Coal Co. He decided to start his own coal delivery business. Later, Joe decided to add oil delivery to make his company serve more people.
Joe was definitely one of the most hard working men you would ever meet. He truly was described as the "Energizer Bunny," which he had on the front of his truck. He was a jack of all trades who seemed to be able to do everything. His family never knew where all his knowledge of everything came from.
Joe was a member of Church of All Saints, McAdoo, and would often laugh that he would have to deliver their oil to keep God warm.
Joe will be sadly missed by his many friends and customers. They all know Joe for his funny stories, stories of his escapades, and his kindness. He never thought twice when someone needed a favor, he was always ready to help and could always leave them with a good laugh.
Joe was a great husband, father and grandfather. He was married for 52 years to his wife, the former Ruth Malitsky. His promise of diamonds and furs was more than ever expected. There was definitely nothing he would not do to make Ruth happy without her ever having to ask.
Joe is survived by his son, Joe Jr. and wife, Jaynee, McAdoo. He was truly a great inspiration and role model to make his son the man he was proud of.
Joe is also survived by his grandson, Joe Wargo III. Joey was the light of his life from the moment he was born. He was truly the doting loving grandfather.
Preceding Joe in death were his parents, Paul and Clara (Wesner) Wargo; his brother, Paul; his sister, Jane Gallagher; and his beautiful granddaughter, Halley Wargo.
Joe is survived by sisters, Cheryl Wilcko and husband, Wayne, McAdoo; and Mary Lazur and husband, John, Hauto; and also nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from Stanley E. Anilosky Funeral Home, 145 S. Kennedy Drive, McAdoo, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Church of All Saints, McAdoo, at 11 a.m. Monsignor William Baker will be the celebrant.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
