BEAVER FALLS

Joseph R. Wells, 86, of Beaver Falls, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018. He was born March 12, 1931 in Mt. Pleasant, PA, son of the late Robert Joseph and Anastasia(Cybula) Wells.
He proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member and former officer with the Baden American Legion. He also served as an officer and field director with the Baden Little League during the years of his sons' involvement. Joseph was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Baden.
Joseph is survived by his wife: Betty Rose (Fitch) Wells; two sons: Robert F. Wells, Beaver Falls and Mark A. Wells, Erie; step-daughter: Linda (Vernon) Volpe, Chippewa Township; step-grandchildren: Danielle Farnham, Texas and Nicholas Volpe, Colorado; step-great grandchildren: Maya, Madison, Eli and Sloane; his sister: Bernadine (Robert) Burns, Mt. Pleasant, PA; nieces: Colleen Burns, Mt. Pleasant, PA and Lisa Carlson, Washington, PA; two great nieces and a great nephew on the Burns side of the family; sister-in-law: Shirley Kline, Mt. Pleasant; Aunt Dee Mulroy, Scottdale, PA; Diedra (Robert) Myden, Scottdale, PA; Patrick (Becky) Mulroy, Everson, PA; as well as numerous additional nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Friends will be received from noon to 3 p.m., Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (GPS 848 Sunflower Road, adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum).
Military Honors will be presented by members of the Beaver County Special Unit at 1 p.m. in the funeral home; a Service of Remembrance at 2 p.m. by the Baden American Legion; and a prayer service at 3 p.m. to conclude the visitation. Private interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
