Joseph Westin Obituary
He is survived by his mother, Louise Lyon; son, Trevor; daughter, Olivia; his beloved Cindy, and her wonderful family; his sister, Mardelle Thomas; his nieces Megan, Liz, Taylor and nephew Drew Thomas.
He is predeceased by his father, Robert Butts. J.R. was born on January 21, 1967 in Columbus, Ohio; attended McIntosh High School in Peachtree City, Georgia and Otterbein University, earning a B.S. degree in Finance.
He and Cindy started their own company, Westin Renovations, and completed numerous renovations of homes over more than 30 years.
J.R.'s greatest passion was his family, though he also loved establishing friendships everywhere he went, golfing with friends, fishing, travel, cooking and entertaining, creating memorable gatherings for extended family throughout the year. He also enjoyed learning history, current topics and had a deep faith.
Beyond his warm smile and ready humor, J.R. will be remembered for his extraordinary gift of seeing opportunities to help others - a testament to his attentive and caring spirit. J.R. was jovial, loving, enthusiastic and welcoming and is greatly missed.
A memorial service is planned for May 2, 2025 at 11 am at Our Lady of Victory, 1559 Roxbury Road, Columbus, Ohio.
All are invited.
A reception will follow in the Parish Life Center for friends and family.
