Jerry Roberts Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 18, 2010.
On Sunday, January 17th, 2010 the most beautiful spirit made it's way home. Jerry Wayne Roberts, Jr made his presence on earth August 15th, 1976. We just called him Scooter. From the day he was born he had personality and charisma. As he became a toddler he earned another nickname, the Destroyer. He got that name because of his knack for tearing things up. As he grew, he started his collection of Hot Wheels which is now a vast collection.
Scooter was never a judgmental person. He had friends in every walk of life. He never met anyone that he did not befriend. He had many lifelong friendships starting with Jamie Villenueva who he met when they were just 4 years old. He was a knight in shining armour to many people. He was always there to help. He always made sure that everyone around him was smiling through pranks and jokes.
When he loved someone or something, he loved it completely. The day he found out that he was going to be a Dad he just kept saying over and over "I'm gonna be a Daddy." He was so excited. The love of his life was his daughter, Maisie Roberts. The day she was born was the best day of his life. He had a standing date with her. On Sunday, he would take her to eat at Osaka and then take her to a movie.
There was nothing about music that he didn't know. It didn't matter if you wanted to ask him questions about Rock, Country, Alternative, Swing, Opera, anything. He knew it. He had over 60,000 songs on his computer and over 100,000 CD's. He started out as a DJ but after his daughter was born he became a truck driver. He traveled the United States and saw lots of famous sites. While he was a truck driver, he never forgot his love of music. He had a daily music trivia contest via text messages. It wasn't long before he was working back as a DJ.
When Scooter got sick, the nurses joked that he had the most happening room in the whole hospital. Scooter has a tremendous amount of friends and family that will miss him.
We know how badly he missed his Mom, Faye Roberts and are comforted in knowing that she met him at the gate with his wings and halo. Also there to meet him in Heaven were Grandparents, Frank & Elsa DeLay; Tom & Susie Roberts; and Pat & Jo Watson; and one niece.
The people left will continue to celebrate his life for him. Father, Jerry Wayne Roberts, Sr; Daughter, Maisie Roberts; Sisters, Krystal "K'Lei" McKinley and Deanna Hepner; Brother, Randy McCauley; Nieces, Taijia and Kacee McKinley; Nephews, Tristin & Christian McKinley and Ian, David, and Bryan Page
Services will be Thursday, January 21st starting at 3pm at St. Andrew's Cumberland Presbyterian Church. We invite anyone that would like to honor Scooter to speak at the service.
