This was our first Christmas without you, Jido Joe and Teta Julie, and your were truly missed. I had thirty years of being loved by you both. You made me feel like family from the first time Dominic brought me to your restaurant. You introduced me to Gyros, Africian and Lebanese food and some really good homemade American cooking. I always loved you and there is a whole in my heart since you have been gone. I was blessed with the greatest in-laws and I will always be grateful for the son you gave me as a husband, father and now a Jido. I know you are both happier in heaven and hopefully Jido isn't still annoying Teta by walking back and forth all day. I love you both and it was an honor to be your daughter in-law.

Two of the best people I've ever met. Til this day, I make banana fritters and grow little hot chilli peppers year round. Thank you both for the tastes that you turned me on to ( in the early 80s ) which continue to linger strongly in my palate to this day. We always laughed and Julie used to call me sleeping beauty because I would gorge myself and then pass out in a booth for a while. Thank ya'll so much and I will never forget you two. R.I.P old friends.

Eating a Max BBQ. Loved Joe and his wife! There were many times while at the restaurant, we would cut up and have joke around. I would eat there at least 4-5 times a week during lunch. What a great honest to goodness family!
I learned from Joe that serving people, making new friends and having a good time is what life it about!

When I met Dominic for the first time it was to play racquetball with our friend Steve. Dominic told everyone he couldn't get beat by any girl. Long story short, Dominic got beat by a girl. Less than one week after his defeat Dominic took me to meet his parents at Max's Bque. From the first moment I met them I was made to feel like family. Joe wouldn't let me pay and both he and Julie kept trying to feed me more. Anyone who has been around Lebanese people knows they are always trying to feed you. Joe would never let my family or friends pay for food when we visited the restaurant. Joe's love of family and his kindness only increased over the next 30 years that I was blessed to have him as a father in law. He will be missed.
