There are not enough words or time to cite my admiration and love for Joe. Joe was a business father to my brother, Warren, and me. We enjoyed a combined 94 years in the amusement industry which started with Joe taking us under his wing during our early years at Frontier Village. Joe was a great teacher, using the gift and tools of listening and then asking probing questions. And Joe loved to laugh. I owe my success in business to Joseph, as well a benefiting from many life lessons gleaned from our friendship. If Joe called you up one morning to go to lunch or go flying (he was a great pilot), you went to lunch or went flying because you did not want to miss out on gaining several nuggets of knowledge during you time spent with Joe. A bit of my soul was lost when Joe left us. Thanks, Joseph, for all you did for the Weitzel brothers. Enjoy the sunshine while resting on God's porch. With love, thank you. Allen F. Weitzel

I was a Frontier Village employee, where he insisted he was Joe, not Mr. Zukin. He was many things, but most of all he was very kind-back in the 70s and when I last saw him just a few years ago. Sending warm thoughts to his family at this difficult time.

December 22, 2018

Joe was a mentor and second father to many who worked
under his guiding hand at Frontier Village Amusement Park.
He taught us about business, people, life, and how to become
a strong and successful individual. Many of us wonder how
different our lives would have been had it not been for Joe's
faith, trust, and stewardship.

He placed his hand on our collective shoulders, whispered
encouragement into our ears, and set us on a course to
success in life. We of Frontier Village owe Joe so much.
He never criticized if we made a mistake, but with his gentle
questioning brought our thinking back to its rightful track.

Our heart go out to the entire Zukin Family and his extended
family. May the warm memories you have of this outstanding
man be with you as you adjust to your loss.

In Sympathy, Warren P. Weitzel

Joe was a friend, boss, mentor and father-figure to me and my brother, Warren, in the world of business. Once he felt you were capable of making sound decisions, he would step aside and let you perform. Between Joe and our father, Paul Weitzel, there were very few skill sets and teachings these men failed to impart. Joe had a wonderful sense of humor, well as a gentle knack for illustrating right from wrong. One of his business philosophies was to be firm, but fair. Joe had a positive impact on many lives, some so far reaching that some never knew his name. A goal for anyone is to strive to be as loved and respected as Joseph Zukin, Jr. Sleep well my friend. Enjoy your new friends while sitting on God's Porch. -Allen F. Weitzel -12/22/2018
