Russell & family, I was devastated to only recently learn that Senora had passed as I had taken medical leave shortly after she left our MCV rehab unit. I will miss her but am happy to have had some time with her. Please know that my heart goes out to you and your children--Senora was a beautiful spirit whose memory is helping me now to stay positive. My deepest sympathy and prayers...

It was a week ago today that I got the word that Senora was in hospice. I sat in my hotel room in Africa and I began to pray thanking God for this beautiful woman with such a wonderful spirit who had been in my life for so many years; for the beautiful family she leaves and all the great memories that continued thru her illness. I could not get home to her homegoing celebration so I shared with so many of my African sisters and brothers about this beautiful, beautiful woman. Rest in peace Senora. You will always bring a smile to my face and heart.

We were saddened to hear of Senora's passing and send our heartfelt sympathy to you. I met Senora when we attended Virginia State after I became friends with Katrina. Later, we worked together for a while at Richmond DSS and I would also see Russell occasionally when passing through City Hall. Years later, I introduced Senora to my daughter who was playing flute in VSU's marching band and Senora offered kind words of encouragement to her. My daughter has never forgotten that. Senora always had a kind word and a beautiful smile and she will be missed. May God's love bring you confort always.
