Josephine Hatch Obituary

Josephine "Jo" B. Hatch, 95, of Norwalk, formerly of Danbury, wife of the late Gerald W. Hatch, died Thursday in the Notre Dame Convalescent Home, Norwalk.
Jo was born in Danbury on July 1, 1911, daughter of the late Halcyon Gilbert and Anna Hine Bailey and had been a lifelong resident of Danbury, before moving to Norwalk 12 years ago. She was a 1929 graduate of Danbury High School; worked for the Southern New England Telephone Co. and The Hatch Dairy. She was a long time member of the First Congregational Church of Danbury and had been superintendent of the Sunday school. Jo was also a member of the Mary Wooster Chapter of the D.A.R. and an American Red Cross volunteer in Danbury.
She is survived by two sons: George B. Hatch and his wife, Elaine of Danbury and Chester C. Hatch and his wife Maryjane of Norwalk; four grandchildren: Laura, Benjamin, Brian and Susan; a great granddaughter, Kimberly Jane Hatch and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Monday (Aug. 28, 2006) at 2 p.m. in the Wooster Cemetery, Ellsworth Ave., Danbury with the Rev. Gregory Errgong-Weider, pastor of the United Congregational Church, Norwalk, officiating. Family and friends may visit at the cemetery on Monday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church, 164 Deer Hill Ave., Danbury 06810 or Notre Dame Convalescent Home, 76 West Rocks Rd., Norwalk 06851.
