Josephine Savage Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 2, 2024.
Josephine Marie Savage, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2024, at the age of 96. Born on May 29, 1928 in Chehalis WA, to Edward and Ellen Kalnoski, Josephine was the older sister of three brothers, Eddie, Larry, and Delbert, who preceded her in death.

In 1947, Josephine married the love of her life, Kay Austin Savage Jr., embarking on a journey filled with love and adventure. Together, they raised four children: Charles (wife Terry), George (wife Kathy), Sarah (husband Bob), and Clifford (wife Melo-de), who were the pride and joy of her life. Her family continued to grow, blessing her with 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Josephine worked for Grossmont High School as the Vice Principal Secretary & retired after 30 years of service. After retiring, Josephine continued with her passion for travel, often exploring the country with her husband in their motor home, creating countless memories along the way. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her beautiful gardens, where she spent many joyful hours nurturing her plants. Josephine found fulfillment in sharing her faith through Bible Study Fellowship, as a dedicated teacher, touching the lives of many with her wisdom and kindness.

Her legacy is one of love, faith, and devotion to family. Josephine's warmth, generosity, and wittiness, will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a family that will forever cherish her treasured memories.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Josephine's life and her reunion with her Savior. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lakeside Presbyterian Church, 9908 Channel Rd. Lakeside, CA 92040 in Josephine's memory.
