Josephine died peacefully in her sleep on the night of January 10, 2016. She died at home in the company of her son Joseph. She lived a long and full life.
Josephine was born Josefina Rosario Pallete in Lima, Peru, in 1926. In 1944, she met her husband, Joseph Lee Stinson, who worked in South America for Pan American Grace Corporation. Together, they lived in Lima, Buenos Aires, and Santiago. In Santiago, Josephine was a passionate supporter of La ciudad del niño, an organization that provided shelter to homeless children. In 1960, after Peru was struck by two devastating earthquakes, Josephine worked tirelessly to send relief to her native country. She received a medal “Condecoración Oficial al Mérito” for her significant contribution to the earthquake victims.
The Stinsons moved to Dallas in the 1970s. Josephine thrived. She became a real estate agent and her clients became her life-long friends.
Josephine was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph Lee and beautiful daughter Martha. She is survived by her son Joseph Stinson; daughters Elizabeth Budner and Carol Stroud; son-in-law Ethan Stroud; grandchildren Keith Budner, Lee Budner, Tatiana Stroud, and Ethan Stroud; brother Miguel Angel and his wife Adriana; two sisters Marcela de la Torre and Pilar Wayne; and wonderful nieces and nephews Miguel Angel Pallete, Guillermo Pallete, Hugo Pallete, Agusto de la Torre, Guillermo de la Torre, Marcela de la Torre Doner, Carmela Archimbaud, Lucho Archimbaud, Aissa Wayne, Marisa Wayne, and John Ethan Wayne.
Services will be held at Saint Rita Catholic Church on Friday, January 15th at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Restland Memorial Park.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers a contribution be made to the American Diabetes Association or the National Parkinson Foundation.
