Joshua Clark Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 7, 2024.
Joshua (Josh) Alexander Clark, 39, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away suddenly on March 31st, 2024. He was born September 29th, 1984 to surviving parent Julie A. Clark (spouse Jerry D. Wize), in Shreveport, LA, where he spent the first 5 years of his life. He was close to his surviving Grandmother Aminta Garcia Clark and late Grandfather James M. Clark. He is and was loved by his surviving Aunt, Michelle Clark-Watson (spouse Timothy "Wayne" Watson) and their children, Uncle Kenneth Clark (spouse Laura Clark) and their children, and his late Uncle John A. Clark.

Joshua was the oldest of six surviving siblings: Richard Holliday, Jr. (spouse Larissa Holliday), Tamarha Holliday-Schmittel (spouse Nathan Schmittel),

Seth Wize, Elizabeth Wize, and Ayla Wize plus he has an older surviving sibling, Damon Holliday. His surviving nephews and nieces are Joseph and Tatum Holliday plus Shamus OBrian.

Joshua and surviving spouse, Jacqueline Martinez Clark, married in 2004 and together had 3 daughters: Cherise, Ayana, and Janae Clark. As a father, his children had his heart and he delighted in spending time with them, creating art, playing at the park, drinking slushies, and sharing in new experiences.

Joshua was a veteran of the US Army and served multiple tours which included Afghanistan and Iraq. After many years of service, he was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sargent. He later worked in the insurance industry and sometimes spoke of meeting "Flo."

Joshua had a love of skateboarding and hanging out with family and friends. He enjoyed being a master griller and creating various drawings and different forms of art. He loved rock concerts, working on and driving his '67 Mustang, the traditions of Halloween and Christmas; reading, philosophy, and using words for others to look up. He found peace in nature, hiking trails, fishing and boating. He always had a compassionate heart and sense of wonder.

Joshua's service will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery on April 9th, 2024 from 11:30 to 11:50am and will include military honors. There will be a pot-luck celebration of life at a TBD location from 1-4pm.
