Joshua "Flyy" McFarland, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the age of 45. Joshua leaves to cherish his memory 2 beautiful daughters, Ashley McFarland and Ja'Kelia McFarland. 2 amazing granddaughters, Wish and True McFarland. His loving Daddy/Grandfather Charles Ulmer, Sr. his grandmother Rosalie Dilosa Thornton. His loving siblings, 4 sisters Paulette (Quincy) McFarland-Diggs, Destiny (Edward) McFarland Lewis, Jackie (James) and Tasha James, 2 brothers Roderick and Marcel McFarland, 4 uncles Derrick and Charles Ulmer, and Winslow Thornton Sr and James Thornton, 3 aunts Gwendolyn Thornton Jones, Yulonda Thornton Griffin and Jacqueline Thornton-Matthews, 6 nieces Ar'Kasia, Ebony, and Evoney McFarland, Terra Richardson, Cornesha James, and Charisse Bush, 6 nephews Edward and Evan Lewis, Terry and Corey James, James Richardson Jr and Charles Bush III, 2 great nieces Ka'Marii Bonner and Treasure James, 1 great nephew James Richardson III, his god father Artis Ulmer Jr, his god sister Makita Wells-Hartford and a host of other loving family and friends. Joshua is preceded in death by his parents Terry Thornton and Tammey McFarland, his grandmother Evelyn McFarland-Ulmer, his grandfather Jesse Jones, his great grandmother Jessie Lee Jones-Green, his uncles Kevin McFarland, Benny Thornton Sr, and Dudley Thornton Jr, and his aunt Annette Watson. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at D. W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70125 on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 1:00pm.
