Joshua ,was daddy Josh to both my brothers from the time they were 1 and first born they were the 1st kids he had and when Taylor died it broke him that day he put that 24 karat gold chain and best friend pendant in his casket I knew he vowed to protect Kenny and his future kids at any cost! He was always my protector and all of us i. Prairie homes . He loved his family and friends and will always be our protector in heaven forever!!!!

Josh and I were both in the Sun Prairie High School Class of 1995...we even shared the same birthday! Even with these connections, I didn't know Josh very well, but it hurt just the same to learn of a classmate's death. I am a CPT stationed in Fort Drum, NY, and am scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan late summer. We know the risks of being a soldier, and from all the things said about Josh, he accepted those risks and went out to do his very best to support something he believed in. He will always be remembered.

I cried the day that I found out Josh died, it was hard to take. Especially if you look around and think wow yet another person you went to high school is gone. I wanted to go out to Sun Prairie to be with his family like everyone else funeral I have attended, but I couldn't because of a prior commitment. So that day I took somtime to recall my favorite memory. My favorite memory is always seeing Josh from time to time with one pant leg hiked up and the other one down. Never really made much sense to me but that will always stick in my head. He was a really nice guy. We will all miss you Josh. Love and my prayers to your family.

Joshua's Family,

Your precious family is in my heart. Joshua will always be a hero. You too are heros for loving and supporting him, knowing the dangers. I know the desire of these pilots is great. Their determination to do their job and do it in excellence is to be admired. I think of how many lives have been saved because of your precious Joshua and that as you have stated, Sherri, he died doing what he loved. We as a Nation are forever indebted to Joshua and you the family for his sacrifice. His co-pilot on that day in May was my former son-in-law, for 8 years, Matthew Lourey. Like Joshua, flying was very important to Matt from the time he was a little boy. We miss Matt terribly. I will never think of Matt without thinking of your Joshua. God bless you all. If you knew josh their is no way that you can forget him, he had a smile from ear to ear. He was our sons God-Father and always will be.

I wanted to express my sympathy to your family. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Your son is a hero. I did not know him personally but know someone in his unit.

it is with deep sorrow that the Zendejas Family mourns your loss. Thank you for your service. My son Michael had nothing but great things to say about you. He too is a pilot in your company. We wish your family our deepest condolences. May they be able to find comfort and peace in the memories they have of you.

Your precious son made the ultimate sacrifice so we and others can enjoy the multiple freedoms we have. My cousin, Mark Martin, flew with Josh and I feel as if we have lost a friend and family member. I hope that it will bring you a little peace to know that many are keeping you in our prayers, thoughts, hearts and love.

My sincerest sympathies to Josh's family. My brother Mark spent many hours in the air with Josh these last few months. They put their lives in each others hands and I feel as though I know Josh through Mark's emails and pictures. The memories of this great Hero will last forever. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Our son is CW4 Mark Martin in the picture with your Josh.They were co-pilots and especially good friends.We have wonderful stories about them dropping the beanie babies and goodies to the little Iraqi children.We know Josh has made a positive difference in the lives of many while serving his country so proudly.He was a son to be proud of as we are of our's.

My deepest sympathy and prayers to Josh's family. I flew many hours with Josh over the last few months. We were in several battles together from Mosul to Samarra. He was becoming a powerful force in Army Aviation. He was experienced beyond his years. Josh always talked about how much he loved his family. We often threw candy and beanie babies to the children here. We dreamed about one day returning and finding our beanie babies and the lives they touched. Josh was a good friend and I miss him very much.

Thank you brave soldier for your selfless sacrifice for the freedom of others. I am deeply grateful and profoundly humbled by your courageous service to our great country. May God bless your family and bring them peace and comfort.

We, like hundreds of thousands of Americans, cannot or will not join the Armed Forces in order to defend our nation from tyranny. Your loved one could and did. We will always thank God for people like him. And we thank you and grieve your loss and our country's.
