FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. | Joshua ''Josh'' Roy Mozingo, 23, of Fayetteville, N.C., went to his heavenly home Thursday, January 11, 2007. His untimely death occurred after a car accident Wednesday night.

After high school, Josh joined the U.S. Army and faithfully served his county in Iraq.

He was an avid history buff who loved listening to music, trips to the beach and going out to eat with his family.

Josh was also a charmer and had a quick-witted sense of humor that endeared him to all who knew him.

He is survived by his father, Jim; mother, Paula Ryan of Little River; stepmother, Debra; brothers, Jeff, Jarad and Jordan, all of Fayetteville, N.C. and Jason Miller of Wilmington, N.C.; grandmother, Pauline Justice of Lumberton, N.C.; sister-in-law, Tracy; and niece, Kayla.

Friends can join Josh's family for visitation at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville, N.C.

The service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Josh will be buried with military honors at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.

The family will also be receiving friends after the burial ceremony at the home of Jim and Debra Mozingo.

Paula, I just wanted to let you know again how very sorry I am to hear about Josh. Even though I did not know him, you always spoke very highly of him which lets me believe that he was a very special person. You have my number so just remember that if you ever need to talk I will be there to listen.

Though I did not personally know Josh, I work with his mother, Paula, and know how much he was loved by her. I cannot imagine the extent of her pain and loss of this handsome young man with so much of life left to give to his family. I will pray every day for the family as I know that our loving heavenly Father has taken Josh to a better place and he will forever be loved, protected, and safe in our many mansions that God has promised us in his Word. My love and concern goes out to all the family in their time of grief. Lean on the Lord, He is your strength during this time. God bless your family.
