KEOTA-Joshua Jeffrey Pappas, age 42, of Keota, Iowa passed away Wednesday October 4, 2023 in his home.
Joshua was born and raised in Mason City, Iowa and graduated from Mason City High School in 1999. He then attended Southeastern Community College, where he met the love of his life, Allison Hill. They were married on July 16, 2008 in Carthage, Illinois. Together, Joshua and Allison have two children Silas Conrad and Scarlet Meadow. The Pappas family moved from Clear Lake to Keota in 2019. Joshua loved swimming and fishing with his children, gardening and canning with his wife and watching and cheering on his children and the Keota Eagles at sporting events. He was a loving and devoted father and husband.
He is survived by his wife and children; his mother: Collette Whitney; father: Jeffrey (Cindy) Pappas; brother: Nicholas (Kiera) Pappas; sisters: Amanda (Peter Bratrud) Pappas, Kendra (Barry) Nzegwu, Cassie (Drew) Pheneger and Erin Borgman; grandmothers: Helen Scarrow, Priscilla Pappas and Sandy Hewitt; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers: George Pappas and Alvin Scarrow, grandmother Shirley Grandgenett and cousin Lucas Seebeck.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota, with Pastors Tony Widdel and Sam Schield officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Sunday at the funeral home.
