Joy Lynn Bender

Joy Lynn Bender (née Dooley) passed away on July 31, 2024, at the age of 67 in Plainfield, Illinois. Born on May 11, 1957, in Aurora, Illinois, Joy's life was marked by her kind nature, generous spirit, and the beautiful smile she shared with everyone she met.

A lifelong lover of animals and music, Joy found joy in her gardens, tending to her flowers while donning her favorite cowboy boots. She cherished time spent with her family and enjoyed hobbies like gardening, shopping, and crocheting, which brought great pleasure and fulfillment to her life.

Joy was a proud student of Lisle High School, where the foundation for her friendships and interests was laid. She had a lifelong career as a Project Manager in Direct Marketing. With over 35 years of service, she retired proudly knowing the ins and outs of her business. Her family was central to her life, and she leaves behind a loving daughter, Brandy, and son-in-law, Timothy. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Kyleigh, Khloe, Ryan, Brody and Brinlee as well as her stepchildren, Brian, Leann, and Dawn. Joy is also survived by her father, Terrence; sisters, Jill, Jacky and brother-in-law Mike, Patty and brother-in-law Bob; brother, Terry; nieces, Amanda, Abbey, Jamie, and Sammy; and nephews, Nick and Peter as well as great nieces and nephews Jenna, Dylan, Jack, Charlie, Ben, Kendall and Luke. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, William Bender; brother, Richard Pearce; mother, Rosemarie Choinski and step-mother Patricia Dooley.

A memorial service to celebrate Joy's life will be held on August 10, 2024, from 1pm to 5pm at the Naperville VFW, located at 908 Jackson Avenue, Naperville, Illinois. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to share in commemorating Joy's remarkable life.

The arrangements for Joy's memorial service are being facilitated by Naperville VFW in Naperville, Illinois, which is assisting the family during this time. Joy's warmth, love, and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
