Joy Lea Bolling WISE, Va. Joy Lea Bolling, age 80, passed away Dec. 5, 2012, at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Norton, Va. Joy Lea was born on Aug. 28, 1932, and raised in the Flat Gap Community of Wise County, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence C.O. Bolling; her parents, Warnie and Ephtha Bolling Hounshell; a brother, Arnold Hounshell; and two sisters, Velma Lou Hounshell, who died in childhood, and Frances Faye Hounshell Johnson. She is survived by a brother, Allen Hounshell and sister-in-law, Faye Williams Hounshell of Fairfax, Va.; four nieces, Brenda Hounshell Cunningham of Manassas, Va., Peggy Hounshell Sarandi of Scottsdale, Ariz., Rene Johnson Cram and Shelli Johnson Christensen, both of Utah; two nephews, Michael Johnson and Monte Johnson, both of Utah; several great-nieces and nephews; and several cousins and friends who will mourn her passing. Joy Lea was of the Baptist faith and most recently attended Stevens Chapel Church in Wise. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, in the Sadie baker Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Jack Blanton officiating. Burial will follow at the Bolling Cemetery in the Flat Gap section of Pound, Va. Visitation for family and friends will be prior to the services from 12 noon until 2 p.m. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Mountain View Regional Medical Center for their care of Joy Lea in her final months on this earth, and to a special friend and caregiver, Janet Bentley.
