Every day I have moments with Joy in the kitchen. She was the source of the one-handed pepper grinder, the two-egg pot, the locking food tong, and the advice that you could always correct the seasoning with a squeeze of lemon, a teaspoon of sugar, or Worcestershire sauce.

So sad to hear of Joy's passing. She was instrumental in our finding our Komondor as well as providing us with valuable information over the years. We are forever grateful. Condolences to her daughter Dore.

To all of you who have sent such wonderful remembrances and wishes, Joy's family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts. It was a madcap ride in many ways, but never dull. It has been a privilege to have the chance to meet you all thanks to my paretns, and I hope we will always be in touch, at least in spirit.

She was an accomplished graduate of Wellesley College as well. She represented the best of our alumnae -- an accomplished, enthusiastic trained mind and a life of service..

Joy welcomed us into the Komondor Club and helped us rescue our three dogs. Every visit to her home was like visiting family and her dedication to the breed was profound. She understood the dogs and worked to be sure that these strong animals got the right homes and right breeding. She was truly welcoming, gracious and very generous in letting us use her grooming room with Cindy Adametz. She was a wonderful soul. We're so sorry to hear of her passing. Our condolences to her beautiful family.

Growing up with THE LEVY's I hold fond memories. I spent weekends at the house as "Aunt Joy" would give me inside math tricks &"Uncle Marion" would let me help him clean the BIG SNAKES CAGE.Our 1st Komondor Juhasz was bred with their precious Duna.Great memories of many dog shows together with my Mom Emma & Father Bill.Marion loved to take me to walk Duna @ The University or The Hun School.. Everyone commented about THE MOP DOG..40 years later Joy &I still kept in contact & chatted regularly laughing that I now have 2 mini dachshunds..Both AMAZING PEOPLE made such an impact on my life.Dore~Amos & Noah I am TRULY SORRY~Rest In Peace Joy..Until we meet again

The Komondor world has lost one of its true champions. Joy & Marion did so much to protect & preserve the breed like few other. Joy's desire to educate people about Komondors led to several wonderful books. Alan & I send our thoughts & prayers to Dore & the rest of Joy's family.

My condolences to Joy Levy's family. Although I did not know her well, I followed her contributions through my husband, Bill Varga and his daughter, Darlene Varga Breitzman. Her devotion to the Kommondore breed was total and sincere. She will be missed by many.
