Vale Joy Todd Passing of Joy Todd - November 2015 The Scots School Albury community was saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs Joy Todd, Wife of Alistair, Principal of the school from 1978 to 1998. She was the initiator of musical theatre and drama in the school and was the producer, choreographer and designer of productions including Pirates of Penzance, Hello Dolly, Oliver, Fiddler on the Roof and Oh What a Lovely War. The Musical Theatre Award is named in her honour. She worked closely with Paul and Barb Tasker, Doug and Vicki Evans, John Edwards and Noelle Oke staging spectacular productions to a professional standard, even showcasing some of these productions thoughout the Riverina. Joy instigated the complusory year 9 procuction to foster music and dramatic skills. Joy was a staunch supporter of sport cheering on countless Scots' teams and students each weekend. Joy, with Alistair, was an advocate for co-education and gender equality. As a gracious hostess she opened her home to the wider school community and to staff, in particular, inviting the entire academic and support staff as well the student leadership body regularly to meals and functions. She was very compassionate with her dealings with students and staff. They all knew they were appreciated and valued. Joy and Alistair were a formidable team. In her spare time she was a dedicated, creative and passionate teacher of history, especially senior Modern History. Her grace, generosity, compassion and enthusiasm, along side Alistair, contributed to the success of The Scots School Albury. The school community sends its sincere condolences and sympathy to Mr Alistair Todd and family.
