Joya was always so helpful when it came to being behind on the school bill. I am a single mom of two little boys and she was always willing to let me pay when I could. She said "Let this be the least of your worries." Her smile was always inviting and made me feel comfort. I cried at hearing about such a loss and will miss her dearly. Thank you Joya for all you did, you're an inspiration.

Joya was such gift to all who knew her and were touched by her beauty and zest for life. She will be greatly missed, fondly remembered, and always cherished. Warm thoughts and condolences to her entire family and all who are feeling her loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. Joya was very helpful & comforting to me when I was struggling with my issues. She was so great and made me feel better. She will be missed greatly.

Joya was my first Facebook friend. :-) I met her 5 years ago through Early Childhood Parent Advisory Council. She was always friendly, kind and had a great sense of humor. She never said a mean word about anyone. Joya was always a joy to be around. She gave so much back to her community. She will be greatly missed by all that were lucky to have known her.

Jon, Hannah, and Luke....I'm sorry that this has happened in your lives. I know it doesn't seem this way, but in time your pain will fade. Your memories of Joya/Mommy will not fade. I pray that in each of these first days you find some moments of peace. May God's love surround you now more than ever.

Dear Jon, Hannah and Luke,
Joya's dedication to her family and friends was truly inspirational. I've enjoyed her many endearing stories of life and love through the 16 years that I've known her. The courage and strength she shared especially within the last two years has been inspiring. We got together almost 3 weeks ago and she shared such insight and preparedness for this final journey of her life. What blessed me the most was that she said she had no regrets and was blessed with full life. She was so strong and at peace for what God had for her next. Her presence and humor will truly be missed by so many who loved her. Take comfort in knowing she is at peace, no more pain, and is tenderly cared for by her heavenly Father. My thoughts & prayers are with you all. Please know HE will always be with you to comfort and strengthened you during this time of deep sorrow.

Sorry to hear of joyas passing we grew up together as she lived two doors dowm from my parents.I have many fond memories. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

May God bless you all during this time of need, I'm blessed to have known Joya and I will miss her friendship,her amazing smile and possitive attitude towards life and her dear children! Whenever there was a bad moment Joya would take the possitive out of it and I know now she feels and is doing the same today! You are amazing Joya!
