She was a graduate of Logan High School Class of 1952. Joyce was saved at age thirteen and on October 13, 1951, became a lifelong member of the Maryetta United Baptist Church at Verdunville. At the time of her death, she was the second on the list of membership longevity member of the Maryetta United Baptist Church and was serving as Sunday School Secretary. Over the years she had held various offices within the church. She had served as Youth Leader, Assistant Vice-President of the Ladies Circle, Sunday School Teacher, and Ladies' Circle Choir Leader. She would take many of the children from our church to church camp and to visit other churches and attend youth rallies.
Joyce was a former employee of Aracoma Drug and Logan County Clerk's Office; secretary to Judge Oakley and for Smith & Walker Attorneys, and retired from Logan Driveshaft.
Joyce was a faithful member of the Logan Regional Auxiliary and until very recently worked at least two days a week as a volunteer. She also was an active member of the "Cats of the 1950's" Reunion Committee.

Joy, Charles and Howard: I am so saddened of Joyce's passing. We had been friends for a long time and graduated from high school together. She had called me just a short while ago and we talked about whether we should have a class reunion. She never mentioned she was having any kind of problems. She was a precious friend to me. May God give you all the strength you need to get through this very difficult time. With Deepest Sympathy,
Elsie (Chambers) McNeely

Joy and Charles,
I was so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I remember Joyce being one of the first neighbors to come to our house any time there was sickness or death in our family. Prayers are with you both as you face each day without her.
