My late husband, Alan, was Joyces first supervisor at L.A.County DCFS. She was smart, funny and a caring, dedicated worker. She visited us in Tehachapi, loved it and built a home near us. I extend my sympathy to her family, she was a lovely person. I am very sorry for your loss.

I will always remember Joyce as a very kind, warm, and giving person. I have fond memories of her from my childhood , wearing clothing she had hand sewn with love. She was my step -grandmother, but always treated me like blood family. I remember sparkle in her eyes, she is a very curious and intelligent woman. She had always shown me and my sister utmost kindness. She will be missed dearly.

Proper words escape me expressing my feelings regarding my "cousin bond" with Joyce. Even though we lived long distances apart, we were close in heart. Born a few weeks apart, looking forward to celebrating our 80th birthdays, together, next year! As young girls, we kept in touch by mail, and it was like Christmas, receiving a box of "hand-me-down" clothing from her! Only special memories will help fill the huge void in my heart! Dale & I send our deepest condolences to each of you!

Joyce and I worked together in Lancaster as Children's Services Workers. She was such a joy to work with. She cared deeply for the welfare of the children with whom we worked and it was always good to share a case with her. We maintained sporadic contact over the years and she will be missed.

Joyce is a wonderful cousin that I can remember for about as long as I can remember. She was always ready to help and most importantly she never forgot the children at any event. She was the life of the party for everyone, but especially for children - she always had something extraordinary for them to do and they loved it. She will be missed by all who are here, but certainly welcomed by those who have gone before!

When you went forth from this imperfect world to the next world, dear friend, I'm certain you were received there with a big "Well done!" I hope it's many a day from now, but I look forward to seeing you on the other side.
