Joyce Jean Farhat

This evening, I just finished reading a fine book on the life of the Sheik, authored by Brian Solomon. As expected, the tales of a true wrestling legend, and one of my favorites, brought great enjoyment to me. But I was equally, if not more, impressed in the reading about Joyce, here and there, in the book. She struck me as being a beautiful, kind, smart, and loyal LADY, who was more than worthy of the kind words spoken of her person, and the abundant respect that she received from many.

I HAVE SO MANY FOND MEMORIES OF JOYCE AND THE GOOD TIMES WE HAD AND OUR SORORITY DAYS TOGETHER. SHE WAS A VERY DEAR PERSON TO ME AS WAS HER WHOLE FAMILY. I AM SURE SHE IS HAPPY TO BE BACK WITH SHIEK AND HER PARENTS AT HOME. MY HEARTFELT SYMPATHY TO ALL .

I believe this to be true as Joyce will always bring loving memories to her family and friends, yet our hearts will continue to ache for some time.

Dear Nancy and Judy,
I have many happy memories of going to the "Oasis" with my sister, Virginia, and school classmates. I have pictures of dancing with Sherry Harding and just having a good time. Have really missed Joyce and the Sheik and the fun they brought into our young lives.

What an amazing woman and amazing spirit. She took my sons, along with myself and made us feel a part of the wrestling family. I am so sorry for all our loss! What a difference she made and the lives she touched!

My deepest sympathy to the Farhat family. Joyce always treated me the greatest and was responsible to bringing me to Detroit to shoot photos at the wrestling matches when I was very young. This passing closes a wonderful chapter to Joyce and Ed's long wrestling career, hoping that wrestler Sabu, who is the nephew to Ed and Joyce, will be comforted knowing the fans have indeed enjoyed their presence in life. Descanse en paz.

I am a long-time Wrestling Fan from West Virginia. I saw The Sheik on TV and could not believe what I saw. He was an amazing performer. I was fortunate that I was able to see him live in Beckley, WV when he appeared in the Poffo's ICW (INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING) and wrestled Randy "Machoman" Savage. Joyce was always like a mother to me. Every time I would see her at a show, I would go out of my way to say hello to her, and spend as much of my time with her. She would always be sure to ask if I needed anything, or even if I wanted to see anything during other shows.....We discussed pretty much everything about life. I will most definitely miss you, Joyce!
