Joyce Griffin

Joyce Ann Griffin, 82, of DeLand, passed away peacefully December 3, 2014 at Florida Hospital DeLand. She was born in Ogdensburg, New York on January 18, 1932. Joyce was a graduate of Hobart-William Smith College, where she majored in English. She moved to Fort Lauderdale, where she met and married her husband, Harrison D. Griffin. Upon moving to DeLand, she became a longtime member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church and enjoyed many activities including her book club, Pansy Garden Club and was a member of the Lawyers Wives Club. Survivors include her brother, Louis Welt of Naples, FL; daughters, Lou Ann Griffin, Nancy Griffin Racies and Patricia Griffin, son, Harrison Griffin; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Judge Harrison D. Griffin. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 7th from 4-6pm at the Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home in DeLand. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 8th at 4pm at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in DeLand followed by burial, which will be at Oakdale Cemetery in DeLand.
