Surrounded by her loving family, our beloved mother and grandmother, Kathryn Joyce Aileen Kunde, 82, of Idaho Falls, returned to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 10, 2012.
Joyce was born in Archdale, N.C., on Aug. 11, 1929, the oldest of three daughters born to Joseph Todd Meyers and Gladys Aileen Lyman Meyers.
On Nov. 30, 1947, Joyce married Louis C. Kunde in Sonoma, Calif. She lived in Cloverdale, Calif., until 1989, when she moved to Idaho.
Joyce spent her life in the service of others, especially her family. She was willing to help any and all who came into her life.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Joyce was faithful to her convictions and served in many callings throughout her life. She was loving and fiercely loyal to her family. She was courageous and strong, always facing adversity with faith and determination. Joyce loved her Savior and had a strong testimony, which she loved to share. She was an amazing example to all of us and will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Joyce is survived by her six children, who were the light of her life, Louis C. (Corey) Kunde, Kathryn (Tony) Toscano, Lynden (Janice) Kunde, Greg (Leslie) Kunde, Chris (Kim) Kunde and Carrie (Scott) Lords; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; her beloved "Forever Sister," Mavis Lile; brother-in-law, Ray Lile; cherished cousin, Barry Humphreys; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Sharron Meyers; and a granddaughter, Kaylene Kunde.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 14, at the Iona LDS church, 5169 Denning, with Bishop Doug Weber officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, July 13, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. in Idaho Falls, and Saturday one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Ammon Cemetery.

I am so sorry to hear of Joyce's passing. She was my best friend for many years in Cloverdale and I loved and honored her, tho we lost touch when she moved to Idaho. My love to all her family. She is truly a great lady and fun to be with and she had the best talent for drawing and painting portraits. I still have one of David O.McKay she did in charcoal.
Love to you all.

Dear Kunde Family, Words can't express the sadness we feel at the passing of Joyce. So many memories of my days spent with her as we visited many of the families and sweet sisters in Cloverdale. It was always a joy to serve with her. Her sweet smile and love of the gospel radiated from her. She will always hold a very place in my heart. My love and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time. Sincerly, Monte and Collette Pendleton

My sympathy goes out to the Kunde Family. Even though Joyce moved away, over the years, I have had many thoughts of Joyce when we were visiting teaching companions and good friends.

To all of Joyce's family. Some of you know me from growing up together in Ca. Your mom was so much fun and such a caring tender woman despite how chaotic things would be when our families got together ! It has been a few years now since my mom and I saw her in Idaho....but that was a good time as well even with disasters with part of the dinner !Your mom was exceptionally special and I know all of you are proud of her. It was my privilege to have known her for all these years. God bless you all.....

Although I didn't know Joyce, I know her granddaughter Kim, who took care of my mother while she was in Hunstman Cancer Institute. If Joyce was anything like Kimmie, I know she was a wonderful woman. My thoughts and prayers are with the Kunde Family at this time.
