Joyce Mazurek Obituary
Joyce was born in Hartford, Connecticut on February 3, 1932. She attended Bulkeley High School and after graduation, she attended University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT where she was a Kappa Alpha Theta. She then married her high school sweetheart and had two children, Susan and Steven. Joyce and Charlie resided in Simsbury, Connecticut, moving to New Jersey and ultimately retiring on Amelia Island in Florida.
Joyce and Charlie were married for sixty-five years. Joyce loved to travel to Europe and the Caribbean and loved to cruise. In her spare time she loved to refinish furniture, garden and take care of her many dogs.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Susan Francis of Williamsburg, Virginia, son, Steven Mazurek, three grandchildren, Mark Francis, Kate Nichols and Shane Mazurek, and four great grandsons, Tyson and Pierce Francis, Gunnar and Hudson Nichols.
The family will host a private ceremony to spread Charles' and Joyce's ashes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests support for your local animal shelter.

I have many fond memories of the times Shane, Steve and I spent visiting Joyce and Charlie on Amelia Island. Those years were Camelot. Joyce was an amazing cook, gardener, and seamstress. She excelled at everything she did. I will forever remember her love for family, her affection for animals, her love of the beach, and her gracious and classy demeanor.

A couple of years ago my wife and I visited Joyce and Charlie at Amelia Island. They were delightful and lots of fun. Charlie and I lived near each other on Stonington St. in Hartford and spent much time at Colt's Park playing many different sports. Charlie by far was always the best athlete. They were an attractive couple at Bulkeley and had a wonderful marriage. Many fond memories. My sincere condolences to their family.
