Caroline B. Head

HEAD, CAROLINE B. (HULL), 87, of Howland Avenue, died Monday at home. She was the wife of the late former State Senator, Alton Head, Jr.

Born in Jamestown she was the daughter of the late former State Representative, Lewis W. Hull and Susan (Taylor) Hull. She was a graduate of Rogers High School in Newport. Mrs. Head was the Jamestown correspondent for the North Kingtown Standard Times for 20 years and for the Newport Daily News for 25 years before retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Jamestown Historical Society. A member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, she was a member of the altar guild and the Episcopal Church Women's Club.

She was the beloved mother of Alton Head III, Lewis F. Head and Roxanne H. Smith all of Jamestown, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Frances McGonigal. Burial Office with Holy Eucharist will be held Thursday at 10:00 A.M. in St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 87 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown. Burial will follow in Cedar Cemetery. Visiting hours TODAY 4-8 P.M. in the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Matthew's Episcopal Church will be appreciated.
