Joyce Elizabeth Peace

AGE: 84 •

Joyce Elizabeth Peace was born in Philadelphia on July 15, 1929 to William and Olive Leepard. She left this world to join her savior on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the age of 84. She was predeceased by her husband, John in 1978 and is survived by her two sons, John Jr. and William Sr. and their spouses, Patricia and Chele. Joyce loved to read, was generous to Christian causes and friends, and she adored her 10 grandchildren, William Jr., Brittany, Bethany, Aaron, Rachel, Christi, Josiah, Joshua, Hannah and Rebekah. Joyce spent a large number of her early years during the depression living in Rahway, and later graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1951. She married in July 1960 and raised 2 young boys on her own in Wildwood, through the mid-1980s. In the mid-90s, Joyce moved to Monmouth, and then Ocean County, to be closer to her two growing families of grandchildren. During those later years, she attended both Community Baptist Church of Neptune and First Baptist Church of Toms River.

Although she already is greatly missed by her family, they are happy that she is now in the presence of the Lord.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2014 until the service at 12 noon at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Toms River.
