Nick Paulson
May 26, 2025
Hello Elizabeth, it has been about 3 years since your mother's passing. I am Nick Paulson, a funeral director at McCrery and Harra and part-time deliver flowers for Breger Flowers.
It is Memorial Day 2025. In the past the week prior your mother and I would have our annual conversation regarding putting gardenias on the Rock graves at Lombardy Cemetery in Wilmington,DE. until I'm May of 2000 when Bregers closed up.
She was always interested in my children's latest Irish dancing achievements.
Another annual Memorial Day task was me placing an American flag on a friend of mine, he was a veteran and had committed suicide also buried at Lombardy.
Of course I don't have the conversations with your mother but I drive by the Rock graves and a smile crosses my face remembering Joyce.
I hope knowing that a stranger that you've never met still remembers
your mother.
I wish you Peace

My Deepest Condolences. I met Joyce through letters only. I was a personal care aide for a former classmate of hers from Wellesley College, Janice. I would help Janice answer her letters. After Janice passed, Joyce still wanted to correspond with me. From Hawaii to Iowa, we would connect. Joyce, Rest in Peace. Love and Aloha, Kelly

Elizabeth, Such a lovely woman with a charming personality. I know she helped so many students succeed. Such a positive influence even when she was struggling herself. She was still working her magic in the nursing home! I am confused as to whether I met her at Accura or Bethany, but she befriended my mother who passed away in December 2020. We had a university connection and struck up a friendship too. I am so sorry for your loss, but I want you to know she made a difference wherever she went.

Joyce Rock Cummings Obituary
If at some point during the 50+ span of years from 1968 to 2019 in Ames, Iowa, you happened to chat with a woman whose chestnut (later, gray) hair was done up in a bun, likely under a red kerchief, and who sported an infectious smile and laugh... Read Joyce Rock Cummings's Obituary
