RUSTERHOLZ, Dr. Joyce E. 55, of Middletown, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Atrium Medical Center. She was born in Connersville, Indiana on December 6, 1953 to parents Edwin and Norma (Wolber) Rusterholz. Dr. Rusterholz received her medical degree from The University of Louisville in 1980, then moved to St. Louis, MO for her residency and started her first medical practice. She relocated to Middletown in 1991 and began practicing medicine at Southwest Ohio OB/GYN. She had a passion for her family and pets, and greatly enjoyed travel. She is survived by her three sons, Francis "Jay" Dube and his wife Ashley, of Lafayette, IN, Patrick Dube of Oxford, OH and Paul Marre of Middletown; her mother, Norma Rusterholz of Cincinnati; sisters, Shirley Krouse of Middletown and Sharon (Gary) Laukhuff of Indianapolis, IN; three nieces, Angela Krouse of Middletown, Julie Laukhuff of Louisville, KY and Kelly Laukhuff of Zionsville, IN; and one nephew, Steven Wooton currently serving in the US Navy. She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Rusterholz. She will also be missed by her medical practice partner, Dr. Talbot and her office staff and friends, Terry Jones, Karen Middleton, Sharon Perkins, Beth Daniel, Tracy Cassidy and Mary Crutchfield. Funeral Service will be held Sunday, March 22, 2009 at 4:00 pm at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Dr. Eric Newell officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 2:00 - 4:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to P.A.W.S., 2790 Cincinnati-Dayton Rd., P.O. I just found out tonight(4/19) of the passing of Dr. R. I have been a patient at that office for 34 years and became one of hers when she took over. I was so upset when I found out about it. My thoughts are with you all.

I also want to say how nicely I was always treated while a patient in Dr. Rusterholz's office. Dr. Rusterholz, no matter how busy, always asked about my life and what was important to me. I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to you all for our loss of Dr. Rusterholz. I met her about 2 years ago when I became pregnant with my son. Although she didn't deliver my baby, we did get to meet on different occasions. We were able to view ultrasounds together and talk about my pregnancy. It was such a shock to hear of her death and I pray that all of you are doing well. She was a nice and wonderful lady.

I will hold you all in my heart today as you honor and respect one of the most wonderful and sweet and humble human beings that I had the privilege to know. Our hearts are saddened and shocked by the loss of this amazing person in her prime.
She touched thousands of people in her lifetime with her kind heart, her wonderful sense of humor, her intellegence, her grace, and her genuine love for family, staff, friends, patients and her pets.
She loved life and she loved bringing life into this world. I remember her calling me at 2:00 a.m. one morning to talk about a delivery of twins. She said it was an amazing and exhilarating experience. I will never forget the love and excitement in her voice at that time. This is just one of many moments I will remember about my Dr. R.
Working for her for many years was an honor. She was very good to me as she was to all her staff. She loved her staff "family" and we loved her. She will be missed and loved by all who knew her.

I want to let you know how very sorry I am for your loss. I deeply cared for and loved your mother/daughter/sister, etc. She has been my doctor and friend since I was 18 years old. She is also my parents' neighbor, and I have so many fond memories of talking with her on nice summer days and petting each others' dogs!
