Joyce Mae Tinsley

Joyce Mae Tinsley, born on August 9, 1939, passed away on April 10, 2025, in Santa Rosa,CA.

Joyce's life journey concluded peacefully at the age of 85 years.

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, Joyce Mae Tinsley. A beautiful soul with a kind heart and graceful spirit, Joyce touched the lives of all who knew her.

She was born to Ethel Smith and Charles Connors in St. Louis, Missouri. After her father's passing, her mother began using the spelling "Conners"-a small but meaningful change in the family's story. Joyce was one of six siblings: Louis (Lowell) Conners, Robert (Bob) Conners (spouse: Rosemary), Charles (Junebug) Conners, Virginia (Nooky) Clay (spouse: Roy Clay Sr.), and Violet (Lucky) Walker (spouse: Ira Walker Sr.).

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Russell Tinsley; her siblings Virginia, Violet, Robert, Louis, and Charles; and her niece, Joann O'Connor.

Joyce is survived by her daughters: Susan Tinsley (California), Tina Adams (Tennessee), and Lori Gilman (California); grandchildren: Gabriel Adams, Timothy Adams, Rachael Moiel, Ciera Montgomery, and Ti'ana Gilman; and great-grandchildren: Ian Adams, Kairo Moiel, and Ocean Moiel.

She leaves behind a lasting impact on the lives of her numerous loving nieces and nephews, including Terry Conners, Toni Conners, Ira Walker Jr., June Walker, Roy Clay Jr., Rodney Clay, and Christopher Clay, as well as a wide circle of extended family members and dear friends who will deeply feel her absence. She was a treasured Aunt to the Tinsley, Lemons, and Ball families.

Joyce retired from Hewlett-Packard after 15 years of dedicated service. As the years passed, she grew closer to the Lord, guided by faith, love, and grace. She was known for her calm presence, warm spirit, and the deep love she poured into her family. She found joy in reading novels and in the simple, meaningful moments shared with those she loved.

Her memory will be forever etched in our hearts, and her legacy will continue in the many lives she touched.
