She was like a mother to me back then, and never failed to ask about my family whenever we met in the years following. I feel blessed to have known her. Wow words are hardly sufficient for me to come up with regarding how much Nanna O'Brien will be missed: she played such an integral role in the lives of each and every one she encountered and loved them in their own special way. Learning of her passing has rocked me to the core, so I can only imagine what her family must be going through: her light is something that will be both missed as well as her presence felt for years to come. Though I call her Nanna she was not related to me as far as a grandparent, but having known her for over 20+ years, it would be remiss of me if I didn't say at least something. May God provide comfort to each and every one of her family members and I wish you a solace that only God can provide.

My heartfelt condolences to the O'Brien family. I met the "lovely" Mrs. O'Brien through the Seventh Day Adventist feeding programme. She ALWAYS made the people feel welcome, even though at times she had to be stern to keep order. I am grateful to God for the short time that she entered my life. She was a "gem" to me.
