George Lewis, Sr. February 27, 1931- March 4, 2006 PHENIX CITY, AL— George Lewis, Sr., "Noon", 75, of 39 Gibbs Drive in Phenix City, died Saturday, March 4, 2006 at the Doctors Hospital in Columbus. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2006 at the St. John A.M.E. Church in Ft. Mitchell, Al. with Pastor Johnny D. Rutledge officiating. Burial will follow Monday, March 13, 2006 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery at 10 a.m., according to Taylor Funeral Home. Visitation will be today from 1 until 8 p.m. Mr. Lewis was born February 27, 1931 in Russell County, Al., the son of the late Ed and Laura Lewis. He served in the Korean War and retired from Ft. Benning, Ga. after many years of service. He was a member of the St. John A.M.E. Church. He leaves to cherish his memories three daughters, Yvonne (Issac) Mazyck, Woodbridge, Va.; Cynthia (Alfonso) Foster, Woodstock, Ga., Yulanda Lewis, Jonesboro, Ga.; three sons, George Lewis, Jr., Woodbridge, Va., Alonzo Lewis, Columbus, Ga., Gregory Lewis, Woodbridge; nine grandchildren, Ta'Neisha Ashley, Sade, La Shunida, Joshua, Leighton, Paris, Tre'Von and Markalah; four sisters, Lizzie Lewis, Phenix City, Minnie Rutledge, Columbus, Juanita Lewis James, Mattie (Carey) Ford; one aunt, Matilda Lyles, Columbus.

May the peace of God rest upon this

family. I'm so sorry about the loss of you all's father, brother, and my uncle. God is able to present us faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy.

Be srong in the Lord, and be of good courage, for the Lord our God is with us in Jesus name amen.

I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Lewis this past year. He was one of the sweetest people I know. He loved his girls and his animals, both of which he spoke of often. Cynthia and Yulanda, my prayers are with you and your family. We will miss Mr. Lewis dearly.
