Juanita Mills

Mrs. Juanita Carolyn King Mills, 73, of 133 Loomis St. passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016, at her home.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Joseph Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Born in Fort Huachuca, Ariz. on Jan. 18, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Captain Beauregard King and Sara Isabella Baten King. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Cavalier Choir, trustee board and secretary-treasurer of the Mission and Charity Fund. She was a member of the Chester Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., the Finley Alumni Association, the El Leatherette Federated Club and Magna Klumba. She was a 1961 graduate of Finley High School and was one of the valedictorian recipients. She graduated from South Carolina State College and retired from the Chester County School District after 38 years of service as a mathematics teacher.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Deacon Beauregard "Billy" King IV.
Survivors are her husband, William T. Mills; three nephews she considered as her own, Beauregard "Buddy" (Donna) King V, Michael R. (Sherri) King and Kevin R. King; three stepchildren, Anthony (Danette) Colvin, Keith (Patty) Feaster and Michelle (Eduardo) Murdock; three cousins, William H. Atkinson Jr., Yolanda (Camilla) Feaster and Adrian H. Atkinson Weaks; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and nieces, nephews and devoted friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Mission and Charity Fund of Calvary Baptist Church or the Scholarship Fund of Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. in memory of Juanita Carolyn King Mills.
Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, April 6, at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester.
