This truly was a shock. I had the opportunity to set in several of his classes. He invested his time to the rule of law, of which he truly loved. Grateful for his teachings!

I was deeply saddened to learn of Adam's passing. He was an extraordinary man who found favor with Our Creator. The last conversation I had with him included a discussion about our Rogers family history. I enjoyed listening to his stories. My sincere condolences go out to all of his other relatives, former colleagues, students and other people whose lives he touched. May Adam now rest in peace and rise in Glory. He was loved, respected and blessed; and he will be missed.

I’m Blessed for many roles Hon. Adam SHAKOOR served in my life. He was my valued and trusted brother, friend, mentor, confidant, college professor and employer. I served as his first secretary when he was appointed Judge in 1981, and we maintained a very close sister/brother friendship from that time until he departed this life. He was a Black Historian whom I often consulted on the subject of Black History which he taught! He was a kind, “Gentle Giant” who was LOVED, APPRECIATED and HONORED BY MANY!!! He served as Chief Judge of the 36th District Court, Deputy Mayor of the City of Detroit during the Coleman Young Administration, outstanding attorney, dedicated community activist and excellent husband, father, grandfather and LOYAL FRIEND! I Thank God that our paths crossed over 40 years ago; for the many roles he played in my life and our lifelong FRIENDSHIP! He is missed beyond words! He TRULY LEFT THIS EARTH MUCH BETTER THAN HE FOUND IT!!!
Rest In Peace My Dear Brother, Mentor, Confidant and FRIEND!!!!..
