Mike was not only a valued business partner but also a good friend to me and my entire family. His kindness extended to the next generation, notably my daughter.
During a college break, Mike personally introduced her to the general manager at Brio's, where she worked as a hostess for several months. Even after she returned to school and later moved away to start her own family, he always made sure to check in on her progress.
The few times she was back in town, she would visit him early in the mornings outside the Southlake Hilton, introducing her husband and two young boys to him. Mike always greeted her with the same warm peck on the cheek and a smile, offering those encouraging words so many of us remember him for. Though her family has grown, and those spontaneous visits are missed, she continues to speak of him with great admiration.

This is a sad earthly ending for me to a 20-year friendship and partnership. We went through some good times and struggled during some challenging times. After I left the DFW area a few years ago, I would always stop by "his table" outside of the Hilton and visit. We would share stories about our families (he was very supportive of my wife's work with breast cancer awareness) and was always good to my daughter and was great with her little boys when she showed up at the Hilton to introduce them to him.
We spoke several times last year as he kept me up to date on his progress; I remember him asking for prayers as he was being accepted for new trial treatments. Staying at the Southlake Hilton has not been the same for many months now.
There will never be another like Mike. He was one of a kind. He was my friend and he will truly be missed.

Walking in Town Square. You would see him slowly walking enjoying the moment. He always had this amazing smile and firm hand shake.

Indeed, no words can express our loss. Judge Mike was an idol to many, with his kindness, generosity, and supportive attitude towards all he knew. I remember his smiley face and unwavering support for me. I hope I had the chance to tell him how much his support contributed to my education and indeed, I was counting on him. Until we meet again, sir. You will be truly missed
