Judith Ares Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 11, 2024.
Judith K. Ares, age 77, of Stratford, CT passed away peacefully on March 28, 2024. A devoted mother, grandmother and wife, she is survived by her husband, Joseph Ares, her three children, Robert Ares, Jennifer Ares-Cruz, and Lauren Ares, two grandchildren, Alix Ares and Jack Ares, and her brother, Joseph Kasmarik Jr.

A lifelong resident of Stratford, Judith was born on January 5, 1947 to Helen Kasmarik (née Kovach) and Joseph Kasmarik Sr. She was a graduate of Bunnell High School and Butler Business School, and worked in both the legal and medical fields as a receptionist until her retirement. Judith was a hard-worker and instilled in her children and family to take pride in their work. She inspired her children to put your best effort forth in what you do. Judith would see beauty in things others often overlook. Judith had a gift for gardening and bringing back to life plants and flowers that seemed without hope. She enjoyed puzzles, reading and animals. She was fond of cats and even the wildlife in her own backyard. She especially enjoyed bird watching and seeing would come to visit her feeders. Her gift was being able to find humor even in the darkest times, a trait she passed on to her children. Judith especially looked forward to the spring and summer when she would be able to root for the Yankees and enjoy the sun and sounds of nature. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

A private memorial service will held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in her name to American Heart Association.
