Mrs. Holden was a warm, caring, and compassionate woman. She was like a second mother and I spent as much of my early childhood in the Holden household as I did in my own. Very rarely are we blessed with someone in our lives as welcoming and wonderful as Judy was. Thank you for welcoming me into your heart and home.

My Aunt Judy always had the whole family's history at her fingertips, and she kept us close to her heart. It was a true means to show how much she cared for us--to tell us stories of all the ways we connected with one another. She thrived on watching us grow up, finding our way, making both mistakes and discoveries. She did not claim to be wise, or kind, and this was how she came to be some of both. I know we all bring along some of Judy with us. She wanted us to be generous and authentic, and she got what she wanted.

My "Auntie Judy" was a real Texas Lady. They don't make them like her any more. She was smart, capable, loving and understanding. She had an empathy for people that you don't see every day. We will truly miss her.

Mrs. Holden will live on in my memories as our Colorado River Bottom property neighbor. Always seeing her outside. Often on her riding lawnmower, or on the small tractor. Always quick to offer a friendly, neighborly wave to my husband Nick and I, Sharry Latham Biediger. She, as well as Mr. Holden will be greatly missed... Peace be with all of you, her family, and friends.

So sorry to hear of Judith's passing. We were classmates at Austin High. It sounds like she's had a great life and has a wonderful family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
