Judith J. "Judy" Hume

WILLOW HILL - Judith J. "Judy" Hume, 69, of Willow Hill died at 7:10 a.m. Monday (April 4, 2011) at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Willow Hill United Methodist Church in Willow Hill with the Rev. Richard Houser officiating. Burial will be at Brockville Cemetery in rural Newton. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today (April 7) at the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton and 30 minutes prior to the service Friday at the church. She was born Aug. 12, 1941, in Decatur, the daughter of George and Catherine Swartz Sherman. She married Ralph Hume in 1961; he survives. Other survivors include one son, Matthew of Indianapolis; two daughters, Kathleen of Carmel, Ind., and Beth of Groton, Mass.; and one brother, Robert Sherman of Lubbock, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may made to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
