Wichita, Kansas - Judy Y. Janis (Née Yotter) was born in Cape Girardeau, MO, but moved to St. Louis at an early age. She graduated from Visitation High School and St. Louis University, where she met her future husband, Joseph. Their sixty-year marriage produced three children: Jennifer Batten of Kansas City, MO, Joseph F. of Edmond, OK, and John of Wichita. She was a wonderful Air Force wife and traveled the world with her husband. Judy worked in Real Estate and was a tax preparer for twenty years. Upon retirement she did volunteer work for Dear Neighbor Ministries for several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Sally Yotter. She is survived by her husband, Joseph; daughter, Jennifer (John); and sons, Joseph (Sheryl) and John; five grandchildren, Dylan Janis of Guthrie, OK, Savannah Kizarr, Jordan Janis, Sierra Janis, all of Edmond, OK, and Jack Batten of Kansas City, MO; sisters, Mary Jane Ladd of St. Louis, MO, and Nancy James of Columbia, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 30, 2021, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dear Neighbor Ministries, 1329 South Bluffview, Wichita, KS 67218-3031.
