Judith Greenwood Lee Jones Judith Lee (Porter) Jones, 77, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away on August 3rd, 2022. Judy was born on September 28, 1944, to Ellis and Marjorie Porter in Providence, Rhode Island.
Judy was proud to be a registered nurse for over 30 years. She loved her family, church, friends, and Jesus. She was thankful to go serve on several mission trips, but had a passion and love for Haiti. She has always had a passion for sewing and over the past few years grew to love quilting and book clubs. She married the love of her life, Jim, and raised their three daughters together in Newburgh, Indiana. It wasn't until 2008 that they moved to the Greenwood area.
Judy is survived by three siblings; Bruce Porter, Janice Keay, and Joyce Jones; three daughters, Kelly (Frank) Bradford, Kerry (Aaron) Carmichael, and Kayte Jones; 10 grandchildren, Cal (Jessica) Bradford, L.E.(Gregg Edwards) Bradford, Kiersten (Trevor) Branco, Kayla (Kyle) VanCamp, Kelsey (Kade) Chanthavong, Grace (Damon) Carmichael, Emma Carmichael, Sara Carmichael, Nate Jones, and Aaron Anthrop, and 7 great grandchildren; Kennedy Fulks, Kalaina Harper, Aiden Dunn, Trevor Branco, Gwendolyn Kelly Edwards, Myla Hale, Braxton Carmichael, and many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.
Judy was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, James H. Jones; her parents Ellis and Marjorie Porter; grandparents, and beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on August 26, at 4 pm at Rocklane Christian Church. Flowers can be sent to Rocklane Christian Church in her honor, or a monetary donation can be made to smihaiti.org.
Judy's family would like to thank her neighbors and friends. You were there for her during a hard time and were a huge encouragement to her, as well as to her family. Your meals, cards, prayers and love were so appreciated.
