Judith Kapp Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 9, 2024.
Judith Elaine Kapp (nee Gardner), 80, of Columbus, Wisconsin, passed away on February 7, 2024. Judy was born on December 10, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She had a great love for her family and friends, cherishing the holiday and vacation times spent together. Judy's caring heart and comforting manner were evident in her roles as a medical assistant at MHTC and Beck and Becker Dental.

Judy was a dog lover and took joy in raising yellow labs. She formed lasting friendships with fellow dog enthusiasts who shared her passion. Additionally, she was an amazing knitter, creating everything from dish towels to blankets for her children and grandchildren. Judy found further camaraderie in her knitting group, affectionately known as "The Stitch and Bitch Club."

Judy is survived by her beloved husband, Jerry, and their three sons and grandchildren: Todd (Greta) and children Zak and Alaina, Mike (Kris) and children Jacob (Angela), Morgan (fiancé Tim Sommer), Caitlin (fiancé Anton Vogel), and Mark (Carrie) and children Ryan and Nathan. She is also survived by her brother, Gene Gardner, and sister-in-law, Judy Hoffmann.

Judy was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Gardner, brother Bob Gardner (wife Eileen), sister Karen Bauer (husband Ray), and sister-in-law Judith Gardner.

A funeral service to celebrate Judy's life will be held on Monday, February 19, 2024, at Lutheran Church of the Living Christ, located at 110 North Gammon Road, Madison, WI 53717. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family are welcome to gather for lunch at the church after the service.

In gratitude for the exceptional loving care provided by the SSM Health @ Home team, especially Megan Sullivan RN and Blanca Carpenter CNA, the family kindly requests donations to the SSM Health at Home Foundation of Wisconsin. Well, we lived some distance apart, consequently, we have not had any contact for many years.
I do certainly remember the Gardner family though, from gatherings at Grandma and Grampa Nelson's home on the Snake River in Pine City, Minnesota, particularly at Christmas and the 4th of July.
My deepest sympathy to cousin Judy's entire family.
Gone but never forgotten !

Cousin, Bill Nelson
